wind gusted as he closed the door to bring a waft of winter snow glittered within the light an aura so blessed this night for he was home and to her he smiled silent yet he smiled finally after so long a time she felt his love through only that smile radiating a warmth to her soul his daughter he swept to his arms her so joyous did her laughter ring as he swirled her around and round till he settled her down only to sweep up his wife in arms of love this christmas eve silent still even through dinner but his love was there in the glints of his eyes his lasting smile as first his wife then daughter spoke of the day and what it would bring presents under tree to be seen and still yet he smiled so full of love for both and yes she knew as did her daughter too not a question was asked just with presents unwrapped they both spent time sharing this love he had for both till the night with his daughter fast asleep he and his wife slow love they made when asleep was she he got up once more to his daughter side he kissed her sleeping brow then quietly faded away .... in the morn awoke the wife to a call she knew would be and the man on the other side told her what she already did know that her man in car accident been a school buss flipped on its side around a hidden bend and him with only a choice of the bus or the sheer mountain side in an instant was all it must have took but the glow from his burning car saved more lives that night warning all to the hazard around that hidden bend softly she hung up tears streaming silent remembering the smile its incredible warmth how he brought his love home to she. |
