A single word is what I said. Actually, it's not even in the dictionary; which is funny because when I said it, there was all the meaning in the world. Perhaps all the meanings that you don't find in the dictionary. I thought I would trip over my tongue for a second there, but no, the thought of the ever present future was here. Right here, right now. Decide, make or break. Preserve it, make a fuss, whatever do you think. How do you interpret me? I'm at a turning point, spinning giddily from the ride. Oh, I walk that straight line, but I look at you and my world turns slant. I know you don't understand the decision was never mine. The flow swept me up, carried me along and deposited me from the wild storm finally onto the shore. When your ship came in, I was already gone. I watched your beautiful ship from the distance. You asked me if I was alright with that. All a thousand meanings in everything I hear and see. I answered, "Yeah." In one word, I was painfully aware of everything you and I were and never would be. Everything that had come along and gone before. The strangest tale that would never be told. A question that would never be asked. My beliefs that I would never question, though they cross the line into fantasy. All my hopes, dreams, desires, adoration and let there not be that word. Let there simply be "Yeah". |
