Before you leave Before miles of sand separate us There are words I need to hear And not the words you think you need to say. Your honesty is all I'll take. We have come too far and face too much for any less. Don't tell me about the future, I can see the road that meets us. Let your heart beat true. Don't tell me with a silent heart that we can't, That we don't have a chance, That the distance is too much, Give your heart a tongue to quiet your fears and crush the wall of duty you hide behind. Those awful words you brought to life, Tainted the beauty of our silence, of our laughs,and the honesty of your blue eyes. Just when I started to walk with a confident heart you spoke your lies. You cannot share your heart with me and then take it away with the word FRIEND. WE ARE NOT JUST FRIENDS! Stop holding on to me, Set me free if you will not be brave and walk the path we started. Back down and surrender to the miles and months that are awaiting to separate us. Or be brave and take my hand and make this walk with me. I know there are mountains along our horizon, but we are destined to endure them together or alone. On our solo journey our hearts will still feel the distance and the ache each climb brings. I don't want to walk through this without you I know we won't be able to walk hand in hand. Just please let our hearts unite and we will find a way. Let your lips speak your hearts will. Stop speaking to me as if I am a fool, lying to me about a heart I know as well as my own! Your words are so weak when you heart is so strong. Your words take all that's real away and leave me questioning all I feel. For this moment, Please stop being a soldier and please be my man. Speak the truth, of the heart I know And not some heart I haven't held. |
