Getting Over You

PART ONE

I love the way you tease me,
About the way I wear my hair.
I know you're only playing,
Even though it's not quite fair.

I can't find anything wrong with you,
You're good at everything.
The way you walk or the way you talk,
Or don't do anything.

Robert Browning was a romantic,
Sometimes you are too.
The feelings you express in a poem,
Spark in your eyes of blue.

I tell you you're a player,
You tell me I'm a fool.
I try to say I'm sorry,
But playing just ain't cool.

You do act mighty cocky,
Better yet I'd say vain.
You think you're so much better than me,
But you're really just a lame.

You'll soon be off to college,
I'll still be here alone.
I guess I could always visit,
Or call you on the phone.

I used to think I loved you,
What if I still do?
Would you laugh in fun at me,
Or say you loved me too.

'Goodbye' is such a strong word,
'I'll miss you' is harder yet.
You don't think I can let go of you,
Well Ryan that's a bet.

PART TWO

I'm still not over you,
And yet I wonder why.
You can be so nice to me,
And then just make me cry.

So just run, run, run,
As fast as you can.
But what are you running from?
You mighty man.

Are you scared to feel,
What you feel inside?
You're just like a child,
Who just wants to hide.

But I know that you're strong,
You are one though guy.
You want to act mean,
But I wonder, 'Why?'

You sleep around,
Just wanting to live.
But you don't even know me,
Or what I could give.

I opened my heart,
And said I loved you.
You made me mad,
And now I'm through.

I can't keep on hoping,
That you'll love me too.
I have to give up,
And get over you.

I'll see you around,
But it's goodbye for now.
I'm going to get over you,
I just don't know how.
