LOVING I'MPERFECTION (who's next?)

friend, please, let's talk about my friend's wart
I'm afraid he won't remove it and truly confuse it
heaven's above, with something he could love!
instead of something understandable, expandable
a fiesty tart, madonna, or prima donna
where's our demanded acceptable love of his life
an allowable he might actually take for a wife

please, let's chat about my favorite friend's wart
have you noticed what he's doing to himself
not something more conventional, superintentional
he might have loved Jesus, Mohammed, even an elf
please, see how an imperfection causes me dismay
so isn't this awful in what he's doing today

please, let's talk about my best friend's wart
don't we represent perfection in how we cavort
IT needs, draws attention of some sort
this small, unnecessary growth in my eyes
and may just be his greatest joy in disguise
why's he grown lovingly accustomed to the thing
why'd he, of all people, have this fling?

please, let's talk about my flawed friend's wart
before he announces publically his newest consort
let's work on stopping this gross imperfection
you warn others, we'll take up a collection
how did he come to grow this? any recollection?
how did it escape our earlier detection?

please, let's closely inspect my oldest friend's wart
how can we tolerate his happiness, loving this way
better yet, let's love him enough to drive him away
we'll curse him already, he must have a black heart
add him to an imperfect friendships death cart
strive to perfection in killing with kindness as an art

please, let's dissect an unwitting friend's wart
then who's next in our crew we can eschew
judgmental, on to crewless! we can't be clueless!
so what if our ship of fools is someday overdue

yes, I'm just irked by his romance, take heart
never let a tiny wart grow to a happiness megamart
friend, let's gossip about our former friend's wart
until the day our freckled flaws push us apart
