Why do you stay when he hurts you when you cry when your heart breaks in two Why do you listen to the angry words to the lies to the excuses Why do you smile and shrug your shoulders when you hear bad news when he stabs you in your back when he uses you and abuses you BECAUSE I LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE LOVES ME I can't help that people have used him abused him taught him to lie and hurt (as if that was a way of living) People still lie to him...people he trusts use him...to keep their own image abuse him...making themselves feel needed He comes home every night looking for shelter looking for MY arms And I hold him all night I hold this man of mine this man that I love After everyone has taken parts of him I give him myself I let him rest He in turn holds me he gives me all of himself and I rest And these moments at night in our bed in our home as husband and wife THEY ARE ENOUGH REASON |
