once again, as I was just wondering
since no invoice has come of late
if I should write a check funding
a little more of your primordial hate

where are you now in some universe
nothing's been heard of you in ages
no polemic verse, unrehearsed, terse
you used to clucking quote the sages

what held you down, a panda's thumb
bamboo clunking chime of distinction
miasma stench that struck you dumb
an unearthly thing nearing extinction

so, who deals with you year after year
just joking, please don't bother to tell
now that you've left me stranded here
sure you've found a better mate in hell
