ancient stirring rime
strong shoulders driving
a paddle, lifting sail
foam waters whirling
in our newness arriving
escorted by the whale

embryo island of time
we climb upon surviving
someday talk-story tale
of our passion, yearning
in smiles to thriving
bronzed male to female
