What's the big deal about a life partner anyway Someone to take care of, who won't do what I say Someone to argue, and compromise with Is it worth the bother, or is it a myth Do I really need someone in my life In truth, I've been doing quite well with no wife Shall I be anti social, or simply a recluse A hermit perhaps, warm and safe from abuse I could be sailing a jonboat for crabbin Or doze by the fireplace in my log cabin A caveman perhaps, they knew how to get laid At least that's what my schoolteachers all said However, all things have upside and downside The bed is unmade because it's too wide The cupboards are bare, with two boys to feed We eat on the road, we're seldom in need Of warmth from the kitchen, meatloaf in the pan The once a year chili from the old Schwans man If I could just find a cute little woman, who Loved me for me, and liked to do what I do I'd grab her up and squeeze her so tightly She'd laugh and wiggle, while her eyes glowed so brightly I'd ask her to stay, and she would say groovy Let's cuddle up here and watch a good movie |
