Anniversery poem

In a picture I gaze upon a reflection of
The first
Curve in the road that takes me to you,
The last
Curve in the road that brings you to me.
However beautiful it may be in the dawning haze
Amidst the surrounding thicket of verdant trees,
It pains my heart to view.
For when I do, I envision a wonderful time
When we do not have to travel any road to experience each other.
When I can awaken each morning in the semblance of your warm slumber.
When I can welcome you home by greeting you at the door with
Firm hugs and soft kisses after an arduous day at work.
When we can snuggle-up and partake in each other’s heated comfort amid a rainstorm.
When we can truly embark upon the rest of our lives together.
When our two souls can subsist as one.
When 60 empty miles do not divide us.

Thank you for the past 6 months.
In the seemingly brief time of "us", you have bestowed upon me the sole thing I ever desired:
Love.
I genuinely look forward to spending the next 6 months with you,
Regardless of what may lie ahead.
