The songs we sing

The songs we sing
at night

Over the static fraught line
Simple syllables pass between
Ones heavy in honey
thick and full
This arrow/string
attached,
flys away.
Strikes deep, burrows to the core
Vibrations.
Rock the heart of the matter
My heart is the matter
All forces of the universe Contend with us.
Even the sun
(der)
Can only favor either
And in this deepest moon
split Night.
Harsh rays crash through.

I think not so much
the Meanings.
but that smoky contralto
your voice.
caught up like The merest night breeze
gently Lays lids low.
And these Heavy-honey-full exchanges
instrumentals.
somehow the Foolish lyrics
lost.
over this static fraught line,
static as unapparent as the crickets
chirp.
insulated from the din
Thoughts.
Heavy-honey-full
notes
Rock me to sleep
So as I
free of flesh
Defy providence
Deny time, and embrace
you.
