Sleeping like spoons, sterling to stainless the patina mellow in morning glow hair scattered between us, clinging to your skin i open my eyes to the sweet dim. Moving so lightly you can't feel the shift, yet your hand seeks my solid settles and sleeps again while I watch your features still again to secure. Sterling is not supposed to sleep tongue and jowl with impudent stainless, our patterns do not match our pedigree unalike. Different table wear from different times. You are soup perhaps, and I am tea or dessert--- and the saavy housekeeper would never allow such a pairing. But my base metal settles against your precious gleam, your arms wrap me til we are that close, and once again we sleep like spoons, and ignore the world that says we are not a compliment. |
