I know that you can't promise me forever, because you're realistic and you understand that things change. I know that now I can honestly say that I will never love another man, but I'm in love and that's what I'm supposed to say. I, too, know that things change, times change, people change. How dull the world would be if everything stayed the same. But I know this too: that we two were brought together for a reason that we two were meant for one another. I won't promise forever, but I will promise to accept change as it comes, fast or slow, as long as I am with you. And I promise to never stay the same, to always change and grow as a person as long as you are changing and growing with me. Nothing is permanent in this crazy wayward life. Not even love. Because love too, changes in time. Changes, but never goes away. |
