empty eyes

Empty Eyes

It hits you deeper than you thought you were,
It overtakes more than you thought you had,
It exhausts even the strongest of minds.
To fight it is to dispel life's precious breath,
To fall for it may possibly take your last.
It attacks you with life, as if you have never before lived.
It forces you to surrender; weak you then become.
The beautiful deviance presented, is that of an illusion,
The pain that possesses you're soul is ever so real.
To fall for you was of no control,
To not be with you is unbearable.
The fool I am; again in the end,
With an unguarded heart here I stand.
Looking into the eyes of fear,
I see that love is nowhere near.
You struck me unexpectedly and I fell headfirst.
I must let you go now, for my heart is tired.
As you sit there empty handed,
I sit here wholehearted.
Waiting for a weary mind to fall for me,
It is the most agonizing emotion there may ever be.
