Once upon a time I believed in happily ever after, a shining prince on a white horse a glass slipper (do they make them extra wide?) a fairy godmother and seven little men to do my bidding. I believed in ballgowns, frog-into-prince kisses and love making a man out of a beast. I believe now there is no perfect prince but there is a man who makes my heart race the Indy 500 and when he looks at me there may not be stardust and fairies but there is a frission of joy that spikes in my blood and makes me believe in right here, right now, not a land long ago and far away. I'll take you, my sarcastic prince over a charming one anyday, and at midnight, after the ball when the glass slipper shatters and the gown turns back into rags we'll race away into the night and I'll do things to you that Cinderella would never do. |
