her heart was so invested in him that she left her mind and her soul behind she let him carve away her happiness but steadily she remained by his side she gave him everything that she had to give while he spun lies in a thick web around her she tried to help him with his problems while he helped himself to the arms of another she offered him love and he took without giving harsh words and jealousy were his only ways now she cries and aches for him, wishing that she could have been better, been more perfect then maybe he would have stayed she is yet incapable of seeing the pain and torment that he would forever bring to her life she is only aware of the emptiness in her chest where her heart should be it's not so much the pain of cheating and lying and cruel manipulation as it is the pain of knowing that despite the fact that the destruction is his she's the only one that wants to stay |
