There's this tantalizing scent come spring. It's the smell of earth, raw dark earth, as it thaws from its winter slumber. It's the rain, as it awakens everything, as it falls remembering cracks and strains that lay forgotten since November. And then it's the sun, as it hastens the day, and it melts onto my skin, smothering it in its buttery embrace. I can almost taste it then, I can almost taste it on your skin as it cascades into you. My tongue searches the textures that are you. And I feel the spring in you awaken, the roots as they branch out from the seasons spell. I feel you as you grow and reach into me, your raw dark earth and it buries itself in me. Your provoking scent as it comes with the spring; and I want to lay in the rain with you, naked, as the earth remembers our bodies and takes us in. |
