Poems should pay proper homage to dead masters. Shakespeare is good. Emily Dickinson? Muy bueno! Poems should not say anything too...truthful. Poetry is supposed to be polite and vapid and flowery. Hello! Like, oh my gawd...only trashy people put the words "pussy" "cunt" "bitch" "cock" "fuck" in poems anger is soooo...like...primitive? like...not evolved? this is america! speak pretty! speak shallow! speak in metaphor. wax poetic about mesas and sunflowers and hummingbirds oh, my...there is nothing remotely poetic about angst no poetry to be found in the blues shit is ugly I don't shit I don't piss I don't cry I don't rage I don't know poverty I don't know turmoil/chaos/loss/hatred poetry is for the androids poetry is for the mindless mediocre thus don't write it if you bleed too loudly |
