HEART OF DARKNESS

HEART OF DARKNESS

Oh, did you utter my name? I think not, player of games.
Lost in your thick jungle of lies, where every lonely heart dies,
I quit this game of blames. Go away. I will do the same.

Yet, sadness fills me with despair seeing you at the wheel there.
My love is hanging in uncertainity long after pledging an eternity.
Lighten the load, toss all care. Dive! Retrieve it if you dare!

Our love had many twists, turns, cuts, scrapes and rope burns.
So where were you hiding this stubborn heart of darkness,
so filled with anger, ugly chiding and littered with tartness?

Lost! I feel we're lost as sea. Adrift, in storms, you're lost to me.
Once we fit so good together. Now you reach, unclip a tether,
struggle to untangle lines of distrust, cry my name, you want us!

Once we'd lost that essential trust this great storm is tossing us.
There's creaking and groaning, shouts and winds moaning.
A final decision to quit or sail. Life and love gone if we fail.

Stripping bare, with care, brave elements to salvage us, dare
me to do the same, forget blame. Make love real, not a game.
Time to show what we truly feel. You dive. I take the wheel....
