I had this crazy wonderful dream last night. You and I were lying in your bed, naked and exhausted when I suddenly whispered those three little forbidden words. And in this wild and crazy wonderful dream you said them back without hesitating. In that fleeting and crazy wonderful moment we loved each other out loud. You held onto me and I went all limp. I wake to the pre-dawn silence and watch red lights count down the time I’ve left in your bed. For the moment I pretend that distant and crazy wonderful dream was really real. But I can feel your feet rubbing mine; your morning code meaning you’d be up for fucking if I did all the work. Instead of climbing on top of you, I curl myself into you, nuzzle my face into your neck, and wind my arms around you. When the alarm finally sounds I put my clothes back on, say “Later” and leave without kissing you goodbye. |
