uncomplicate our lives

Don't really know, I've told you so...
where they went today, yesterday
last week...whose company they keep
where they sleep now, or in the future--
they're just friends, they make amends.
It's always them, and us now and then.
Defend the time we don't or won't have
it doesn't matter what they ate
or how they participate.
I'm not there; but I care; more, I dare
to love you and all you do
except for the fact no time
is yours and mine, it's always their time--
and time is all we have...
it's the salve that will heal this wound,
this bleeding heart, torn apart,
thrust to distrust
in how this currency of time is spent, lent....
I'm spent!
Uncomplicate our lives to just us
give us a chance to be together, a forever
in love and trust,
simplify, clarify...
you have the power to rectify
these complicated years and tears
or keep on going in busy circles
but do it without me...without us.
