NOT JUST A TOY
Kens and Barbies
to some, we are just toys
never adults, just juggling
feelings of girls and boys
never knowing love's joys
another toy desired
pulled from the shelf
expressions of love
played with...broken
soon pushed aside
purchased anew
played with...a token
of primal infatuation
not love...still broken
crushed, denied
feelings toyed with
played with...spoken
lies, hearts broken
plastic parts, hearts
touched...who cried?
to some, we are just toys
never adults, just juggling
feelings of girls and boys
never knowing love's joys

PAPER OR PLASTIC?
they don't think of us as real...
only something to be played
yep, something to be "bought"
with hard cash, easy plastic,
fake promises; we're wrapped
and sacked in paper or plastic
for toy lovers, we are just toys
some on-and-off time-out joys
assembled plastic parts, hearts
incapable of feeling...to reeling
thrown away in that same store
paper or plastic; sad to the core?
No, what's nice about the "store"
someone there may truly adore
give us a chance to come alive
be soft skin, real kisses, thrive
be more than the image of a toy
be the lover one can truly enjoy
don't ignore what a metaphor's for....
