If I would have known At any time, a year ago, five years ago. Ten. If I would have known what was coming, I would have just closed my eyes. Just closed them and told myself to just Hold on. Just as I see people around me, all around me. I see their eyes, and feel their strife, feel their life on its edge. Feel them standing where I once was. Have you ever been on a 72-hour hold? I have. And I see the possibilities all around me. We all live just three steps away from going over that edge. Don't we? I want to tell them to just HOLD ON. Because everything changes. The good, the bad. The sad. Everything changes. Holding on is the act of surviving. Just closing your eyes, breathing, and waiting it out. If I would have known. But maybe that 72-hour hold and what led up to it Was what got me here today Telling you, telling everybody To just hold on. Trust me, just hold on. |
