I awoke thinking of penguins, marching, For some odd reason, their shuffle Their creature-unlike-any-other stance. Feeling cigar-like in my bed I imagined I felt a shift in the earth. A tectonic-plate contemplation Of another massive change in direction. We have to go with it, you know. Fighting it is the most futile move of all And I am learning, possibly, that futility Is to be avoided, because we are here For a short time. Each day counting Is an ambition to strive for. I awoke thinking of penguins, marching And I shuffled out of bed With a new, and yet very old, ambition. The floor of the ocean leads us Change is coming It's coming. |
