I stand where the earth meets the sky, where the oceans fade and the stars kiss the gold. I stand and wait scented by sweet memories and gentle raptures that we held so that you will remember me. My flesh torn from ivory, my eyes deep with ebony light like black opalescent pearls, I whisper to you through waves etched gently across the open sky, I call to you on moon light crawling through panes of glass. I am in the seasons, the crimson leaves, the velvet on rose petals, the wind around you, the flat stone beneath your feet. I watch and listen in the silence of your ringing ears and continue to wait, yet to cross into that reverie that belongs to all souls, I stand upon that bridge reaching for you, waiting for you to take my invisible hand. Oh, will you never reach, I have yet to grasp that melody of eternity I still fall beneath it, and though life is but a single tiny breath to me it drops like grains of sand and stars in heaven, too long and endless to count. I will stand here at the place where time was born until you come, my angel, my passion, my life's ambition, so that we may be all things together and drift upon icy crystal, floating through the dreams of sleeping children, and upon the dust of moth's wings. For that place of lighted candles and white gossamer canopies would be cast with shadows if you would not be there to brighten it, no love, my song shall be one of impatient meandering through the halls of your years until the hour glass has emptied and you return to me. When the cold sets in upon your skin and your eyes are faceted with it's bittersweet desolation, you shall ride the lost tides and find me waiting.... always waiting, until at last you come, then I shall step into nirvana with you beside me, for my paradise lies solely with you... |
