If I laugh in my sleep Does it mean I'm happy, now? Or is it just another R.E.M. moment That won't survive the daylight Much less the memory. But this time I woke up laughing So can it mean I'm happy, now? I don't know what brought it on The dream, whatever it was, is gone But it means something, doesn't it? Because I don't find on my bedside table Madness, writings of insanity That scare the hell out of me The writing mine, and yet The thoughts of someone Deep, deep inside me Who ran me from there Who ran me from way down there.
