AWAKENING

Ah, I did not say I love you for that day,
the effect, or the moment...I meant it
for forever...the same way you said it,
was afraid to define, only to whisper this
hope we'd hold it as we held each other.
Yes, to somehow cradle it as the child
we might have had together. Did we
need one for a stronger bond?
No. In maturity there is this awakening.
Everything around us is our "child"...
awaiting our nurturing that helps
our bond grow stronger in all we share.
