A Fairy-Tale in Reverse Kiss a frog to make a prince And so the story goes you might get warts upon your lips but then one never knows. He fed me charm like honeycomb his face he kept so straight his candy coated romance lies were those I freely ate He fit the part of a gallant prince with that sparkle in his eye he rode the horse of tenderness a special sort of guy He met my folks and I met his We shared our past mistakes We picnic'd on the garden shore near his castle by the lake He took me to the nicest pub to chat and laugh and sit We sang to oldie jukebox tunes and cuddled quite a bit Our dinner reservations were the formal way to dine We even danced in elegant dress and sipped on vintage wine One date led to another and we spoke of future plans my prince and I grew closer that's how it all began And on this special evening as we hid behind a menu I finally got to kiss his lips at our first and final venue In the weeks that were to follow His excuses began to advance from being too busy with shopping to a weekend in Paris, France From constant weekend dating to hardly ever there I was taken from a fairy tale to a lonely cold nightmare And then the fatal phone call on that Thursday night in Dover He said he couldn't help it - but Our relationship was over Now all I see before me is his crown laid on the floor along with his royal robe the prince is there no more I hear him groan in faraway dreams as he belches some toad-like sound He's probably croaking his batch of lies to a new love that he's found ~Harem~ |
