You're here Kneeling on the boulevard with An empty stare. I'm standing on the sidewalk Watching with curiosity, Anticipation. A hammer and chisel appear in Your hands. Without even a glance You know just where to strike. My heart! That's MY heart! No one knows but me! All I can do is watch, Eyes wide with disbelief. You lower your head To watch your progress. My daily reminder of why I'm on this planet; Now indistinguishable From the rest of the Cracked and worn pavement. It's gone. I'm awake. Scared it has disappeared I walk to the boulevard. Pulse racing, I look for my secret. Find it. |
