Laying beside each other Beneath the covers of this bed Your face so near me Resting on the pillow next to mine I can feel your warm breath Moist against my paled skin Lit with amber rays of November The late afternoon warmth Cooling into early evening We pull together Your nose brushing my forehead While your lips press light Against my brows, nose, cheeks My eyelids close, and I savor Flavors of your mouth As it arrives at last at mine Finding your tongue and teeth As they move in time with mine Your hands sliding firm From shoulders to wrists Wrapping your neck Scarved in my arms Fingers tangling hungrily Along the nape of your neck My thirst growing every taste Your strength trembling Firm against me As I melt in closer Pressing as near As two bodies allow And the autumn sun sets Below the rim of the earth Into golden night |
