PAPER ROSES Cut the flowers in the garden put them in your vase They'll live awhile in that glass all trimmed in ribbon lace As tokens of true love and such live roses are often sent to lift the spirits of the girl as a token they are meant But soon they wither and sadly die in the muck left in the vase no more to soothe her happy eyes discarded with the lace But silkened roses made from cloth will never ever die They look just like the real ones do but they don't make girls sigh They want true love and not a fake nor a paper token form for only real live blossoms sent can heal the heart's forlorn ~Harem~ . |
