Misti--:)you know, if I might pay more attention and not try to think right when I wake up, I might have gotten that...as it is, I am sitting here laughing hysterically at myself for missing it...

S. Fisher--Rosia and One Night Stand...all I can say is DAMN....I love 'em both!!!!

as for any of my own....I fried my brain with video games to escape the never-ending works on heart break...a slump I seem to be stuck in, but with hopefully change with some other forms of inspiration... :)
Aphrodite...very nice.

...and as for all this talk of Nirvana. I have to join in, I can't let a NIrvana discussion pass me by now can I. Not after my crappy little band has covered so much of their stuff. Possibly Cobain's greatest and most powerful line (with the obvious exception of "I hate myself and I want to die") is from the same song as the chewed meat thought, but comes in the very first verse.

"I don't care what you think unless it is about me."

That is brutally honest in my estimation, mind you DRAIN YOU is simply a brilliant song. Anyone else notice Cobain's tendency to associate extremely graphic and even gross images with thoughts of intimacy and love. DRAIN YOU has another one in "I travelled through a tube and end up in your infection." And from RAPE ME "I'll kiss your open sores.."
It's disgusting but so brilliantly effective in portraying a twisted type of unconditional love. That's my spin on it anyway.
Gala I'm trying to figure out what you're apologizing for. My eyes are still asleep right now too, but I just read your new sub and I think it's astounding. I like the way your work is moving & growing - it sounds like you're drinking up life and swishing it around before you swallow. Or skipping the swish part altogether and throwing those stemmed glasses up against the wall. Morning thought: imagine substituting "I'm sorry" with "So what"? It's Goddess month! (thanks mojave for getting us rolling) And yup, Aphrodite, (spelled Aphrodite = Diva) who the Romans called Venus (= more dignified), was the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. Or that's what someone told me anyhow. Rumors. ha!

1) You misspelled Nietzsche
2) Nietzsche didn't say it. Matt Groening did, in "Love is Hell" - he just jokingly attributed it to Nietzsche

Your tender glance
luring and clever
what a pleasant dance
the curve of your lips so entrancing
they spin my mind, like the marriage of Figaro.

Your body so soft and tender
I feel I'm in heaven when I hold you near
the feel of your soft skin sends me to the clouds
the feeling of your arms embracing me is a dream come true.

Your eyes are more beautiful than the stars in the heavens above me
they speak many words of love
I get lost in their diamond like sparkle
as I gaze deeply into their eternal depth.

Your lovely silky hair
I can only dream of running my fingers through such a heavenly place
its softness sends my mind spinning to the clouds
oh how I dream of its silky touch

As you may know, we have provided your link to our Home Page visitors for some time and it has enhanced our efforts to build a popular Internet location. We thank you for its use and we hope you have also benefited from your high visibility position on Federal Gateway.
Federal Gateway http://fedgate.org is a service of the National Small Business Contracts Council, Inc.---a not-for-profit corporation. This site is now the largest U. S. Government Information site on the Internet. The Library of Congress refers to us a "American's One-Stop Resource For U. S. Government Information". No other site offers the extent and quality of government information that we provide---over 1000 other sites are now linked to Federal Gateway! We provide our web site at no cost to anyone that visits our location. During the next twelve months we project that our "Hits" will go to over 3.5 million annually. Best of all, over 80% of our site visitors arrive where your link is---at our Home Page!
To give you further insight, a profile of our visitors shows that seventy-five percent come from the education, business, and government sectors. Slightly over fifty per-cent are women and the average income level is in the $67 thousand range. Fifty-eight percent have a four-year college degree or more.
We are continuing on a major site promotion program and ask you for your support. Consequently, starting April 10, 2000 we are asking that you contribute $175.00 for the following twelve months for your link, that is now in place on our Home Page. Since this is less than $15.00 per month we hope you will agree that is a good value. Please make your payment to the Small Business Contracts Council, Inc. and we look forward to this continued relationship.
I whole-heartedly agree with Madison's take... You have nothing to apologize for. There is an unmistakable beauty to the power of raw emotion that continues to bloom in your work, and you ought not disparage its voice...
mojave-
reading over the poem that caused a stir - "...complicated Goddess" - I am struck yet again by the sheer force of the truth in it. Loving a woman is VERY difficult to define, even after you have settled into some level of comfort. On certain levels it is very simple, because it makes perfect sense. But on several other levels, it is so complex that it takes a lifetime to begin unraveling the mystery. That is what makes real love so wonderful - it CAN'T get 'old.'
And--- thanks for evoking an old memory with "No Sad Lines Tonight." I purchased the only book of Neruda poetry that I own seventeen years ago today (as a matter of fact) whilst on that first honeymoon...

lanna-
I understand where you were coming from with "The Chase." For even after I caught the One I was chasing (well, she DID fire the starting pistol those many years ago, I'll give her that!) I find myself wondering from time to time what being pursued BY her might be like...

Toklas-
I adored the ethereal quality of "Letter to a Lover." It reminded me yet again how wonderful it was in the times before Email existed to WRITE a love letter...

Megs-
You are wise FAR beyond your years, dear. I see a lot of what I have lived through in "Comfortable Routine," and I KNOW that she must once have "worried the passion was gone." I have as well, but we somehow we both stumbled across the truth of a life-long love - You MUST make it new again for yourselves... Not that comfort in and of itself is a bad thing - companionship is truly important when you have been married for a while. But you have to keep the coals of passion hot (well, at least *I* do!)...
Thank you Kevin, glad you enjoyed.. but I have a question.

Let us say you just received this letter.... Change the one line from "goes sadly" to "goes wildly." (that is how I sent it ) What would you think of the letter? What message did you get? If you get a minute --you--or any of the guys-- what message came across from the "Letter.?" Not an idle question--just looking for some input on how a guy might see it.(I did send this "Letter")
Gala- Even though I told you in the IM...I loved Aphrodite...so as we decided...only compose in the earliest AM *grins*

Kev- I am the oldest of old souls somedays (esp. lately)
How was YOUR weekend? Hope all went BETTER than perfect.
If I told you about mine I would lose your respect as a mature girl *sneaky giggles*

Deevaa- *Peeking in corners* Where are you???
Hehe...Miss you.

Toklas- I read your Love Letter (but I am not a guy so my input isn't what you want) I am interested to see what Kev or Mojave or someone else says about it. (Male perspective and all...) But what I wanted to say is your letter is what made me think to submit "The Letter" I have never sent the letters I wanted to send and I am glad you sent yours.

Till Later-
