I just read DISAPPOINTMENT. And I guess I took offense to you lumping so many males into the catagory. Now, please, don't take offense but....the one common demnominator in all this is YOU.

I take no offense as I was being dramatic
and was writing it as such at the time.
I was "VENTING".....expressing frustration
and disappointment at a particular moment of
time.
I know I am common denominator in the
document I wrote - DUH.
When I point a finger, I'm intimately acquainted
with the fact that four are pointing back at me.
But that wasn't the topic of what I wrote... I'll
save the "mEg self analysis" for another date...

I was just wOwed by *Disappointment.* As someone who has been dating for the past 11 years, more or less, I can tell you...I identify!!! I don't know who this Paul is when he's at home, but you are NOT a "common denominator." Yeah, yeah, I get the analogy all too well, but someone who writes like you do is NOT common!
Oh gosh...I just realized I have a friend named Paul who drops by here on occasion. Hope this is a different Paul!!!

I was not put off in the least by your poem. Nor, strangely, by that first comment. My first thought (other than "how typically male" - but then I guess I just see women in a different light than most men) was that some people, even if they LIKE poetry, just do NOT 'get' how deeply personal the act of putting yourself on paper is (or your emoting electrons in the ether). To become too entangled in the words themselves is to forget the whole idea of context.
A true artist always has a deeply introspective element, whether they point a finger in the mirror or not. Many poems spring from all of that, whether they bring catharsis or not, and as a fellow poet I thank you for the demonstration...

The point of "You Were Right" is well-taken (I am continually told that I err too much on the side of worship, when all I want is for her to KNOW down to the nucleus of every cell of her being that I ADORE her). And the first three lines of "After a Night of Reading Your Poetry" struck me hard - right in the gut... But, to borrow a Kirkism if I may, I only WISH I had written "just let me." That is poetry, epitomized, sir...

I cannot tell you the myriad of images that "Bonfires" evoked within me... all were quite striking and pleasant. Much like the soul that would create such a poem, no doubt. Thank you for sharing.

it is quite true that the pain of life enables us to grab a little more clarity with which to see how things truly are. That you possess a wisdom far beyond your years is almost too trite to say to you. Belittling, in a way, after reading "All You Know About Love." When I mentioned above how deeply personal (and private) the act of writing was to a POET, I suppose I was thinking about your prose in this work... You are braver than I could ever be to share your life with everyone this way. Thank you... for everything...

Also, at the end of your comment, you called yoruself the lonestar Lolita of texas, It caught my eye because Lolita is my mom's name!! How ironic is that!! She used to live in Corpus Christi and loved it, I can't wait to visit there one day.

Well, all, another month gone by. I can't believe how fast this year is passing!
I just wanted to say that I am so very impressed with the work that's been coming out. Of course, now I am stuck and can't write a thing, but I'm sure given time, it will change....(we can always hope.)
Not gonna comment on any one in particular today. Just know that you all have touched my heart, my soul, andmade me think. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and emotions.
