DubalPoet, you are now being snipped. You are taking too much space and so are the people you goad into responding. <BR>
Possibly more concise arguments will not receive the same treatment. (Hint: quoting scripture to people who are convinced of the divine inspiration of said scripture is only helpful to your cause under certain circumstances.)

Homer: "Lord, I am not worthy to eat thee..."<BR>
Marge: "Homer, that's not God. It's just a waffle that Bart threw up there."<BR>

Ali~Your poems are so great. I can relate to almost everything you say in most of them, and it's cool to see I'm not the only one going through it. Keep writing.<BR>

Okay, Okay, tis been awhile since I've made an appearance, however, i do stroll through often and the whole religion thing caught my eye and I appreciate Kirk's leniency. Soooo, for my two cents:<BR>
<BR>
As a non-church going Christian believer, I'll say this, My relationship with God is personal and the reason I don't go to church anymore is because of the so-called accountability forced down my throat. You wouldn't believe the "love" I got from fellow "christians" because I'm a smoker. Sure, they can all see my outward sin, but how many times did those reminding me of my evil ways, lust after my wife at the same time they were holding me "accountable" out of "brotherly love?" So God and I have an understanding, we communicate in our own way, and I hold MYSELF accountable to TRY and be a good guy. One of my favorite quotes is "you can be as fundamental as you wannabe". MY two cents!!<BR>

P.S. As a Sicilian, NOBODY makes better sauce than ME!!

To Dark Angel,<BR>
Congratulations on your engagement. Glad to see that after all the prose about love lost, love found, love lost, love found, etc., you have finally found the love you have been searching for. With your ability to write so eloquently and with such deep feeling, I am sure she is a very lucky lady indeed, and that you indeed are proud and lucky too.<BR>
Best Wishes.

This will probably be the last writing I will put on this screen because of Kirk's decision to snip me. This is of course his page, so therefore he's entitled to do as he wishes. I have no resentment for him from this action, because he was gracious enough to let me post what I have. So thank you Kirk. As one last thing I want to say, Please don't look at the actions of all "believers" out in the world today for a view of God. I'm ashamed to admit that the Church that Jesus Christ established when he ressurected from the dead, has shamefully fallen into the same thing this world offers. As a fellow believer I realize that it's not the good works we do that bring us into heaven, but by faith in God alone. However, if we state that we have faith in him we should act like it. You will all be on my prayer list that Jesus may come into your hearts and show you what he has to offer. And as a closing statement I will drop the issue, for again there really isn't anything more that I can say that you haven't heard. This will probably not be the last time some of you hear this, or think about this. I'm sure God has already tugged at some of your hearts already that have been reading this. I want to end with one question just to make you think. If you were to die right now, where would you go, heaven or hell? There is assurance in Jesus Christ.

According to my moslem friend Habib, hell.<BR>
<BR>
In fact, it was the whole issue of 'devout moslems' that made me realize the faith I had was more due to my upbringing than any divine personal revelation.<BR>
