It Could Have Been

It could have been
Everything that my heart hoped for
It could have been
Magical in those private misty moments
It could have been
A life filled with loving touches and looks
It could have been
Laughter over cold cereal on a Saturday morning
It could have been
Three people coming together as a family
It could have been

It could have been
But it will never be
Not now, not ever
My life is controled by forces uncontrollabe
By those who hold a choke on my life
Who have the power to destroy
To take the one thing that I live for
The one thing more important to me
Than all the "could haves" ever were

Goodbye my dreams
Goodbye my life
Goodbye my love
Thank your dear Lord
That you can walk away
That you can continue to live
When all my dreams are destroyed
And all I have left is
It could have been

To me Clapton is the personification of everything that is good about music. Everything that is real and not caught up in the bullshit.

To Ali,
Thank you so much for your sincere compliments on my work.
I like the powerful comment. When I write , I often feel the emotions of long ago, that went with the stories, finding myself in a pool of tears, sobbing bitterly, or just plain shaking. Even when proof reading, I get shook up. You appear to be a sweet and feeling person, it shows in your comments and also your writing.....

My favorite bumper sticker of the week, just thought I'd share... 'A Woman's Place Is On A Warmblood'. Now if this wasn't horse country, I might've pondered over that one for days :-)
I haven't put much up in here, but I wanted to let you all know your poems really helped me through some rough times over the past couple of months. When things were so confusing, and I felt like the only one going through it, your words helped me
