Sati~~ I ask myself that same exact question. Why doesn't he chose me and his answer is because we are to far apart. I thought love would be enough but I guess I was wrong, so now I am just going to walk away. I guess time will tell if he was the right one!

Oh yes, and, 'Thanks,' for the front page pick.

To all the wonderful blender writers, I love you all and look forward to reading your work daily. This is my favorite place to read and write and "Congratulations, To All The Front Pagers!" (Is this ever Cool or what?)

From: Echolocation

Kirk -- thanks for the Digest space! Given the superlative quality of the Digest picks, past and present, I am both honored and humbled.

All who commented on "Mile Markers" -- thanks! Putting words around an emotion in such a way that other people recognize it ("Hey! I know that feeling!") is a tricky thing and I'm always grateful when I manage to do it.

Harem -- Author of "The Friend Who Just Stands By" is B. Y. Williams. I don't know when it was written but I've got it in an anthology dating from 1965, so it's at least that old.

Tanq -- will search out Amanda Marshall as soon as the old bank account can support it, thanks for the recommendation. 4 Wine Bottles, eh? This Great-Songs-To-Be-Lonely-To scale is no doubt something to which we could all contribute one or two tunes...

Kirk: Congratulations on the beginning of long and lasting wedded bliss! And as a frontpage virgin, I can't describe the thrill of returning from 8 days in Alaska (gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous) to see my scribbles "up in lights". I bow deeply to the august company of frontpagers past & present!

deevaa: Love the watercolors! I've been doodling this image lately: two figures, facing each other, hips together (one sitting on the other), knees bent so their feet touch too, holding hands, leaning away from each other so their arms are outstretched and their heads tilted back to the sky. If I can figure out how to get something scanned in here, I'll post it.

Missed the blender when I was cruisin' the fjords, but it gave me some ethereal beauty to incorporate into future musings . . .

Shayan- I always thought love would be enough to overcome anything. If they are not willing to try do you think it is because they are not in love? To me once I feel love comeing up inside me nothing is impossible, I guess that is not the same for everyone, or they don't feel the same about me (and in my situation I know that is the case). I am not completely walking away just keeping one foot in because people change so you never know what may happen, but I am no longer holding my breath. I still believe that if two people have a strong enough connection it will work it's self out in time.

To all who post here,

I have been reading your work here for the last 4 months or so, and I want to tell you all that you have been such a source of comfort and inspiration to me. My romantic life has been quite a roller coaster ride for the last year and a half. At times, it has been unspeakably difficult to bear, and at other (all too brief) times, it has been unimaginably blissful.

Being able to read your work has taught me that I'm truly not alone in how intense and overwhelming my emotions can be. I've learned that the intensity of my emotions is really a gift, and that has inspired me to begin to write poetry about them. Being able to post these poems on the blender is like standing on a mountain top and shouting about it at the top of my lungs, to an audience that actually listens and understands. It is such a release.

So, thanks to all, and especially to Kirk for providing this forum. I know that I will grow as a person and as a writer through reading and posting here for a long time to come...

Kirk ~ Thanks for another Front Page Pick. I'm honored and you're definately a tall drink of water!

h. ~ Red Moon was the best work I have seen in a VERY long time! The IMAGERY is astounding! I was there, on the boat, as both of the lovers. And the way you likened the connection of the lover who was awake, to the lover who was asleep to the water, the ocean...the way they both possesed parts of that nature, it was so gentle and perfect. And to show the wakeful lover so saturated with the sleeping one, yet we find out that perhaps it cannot be this way, "And I cannot be / Within." ...You managed to capture the whole thing into a time of elusiveness and fleeting wateriness. It is difficult to create definate, solid imagery and emotion with such wispy, ghostlike words, but you did it! This one is getting printed out and posted where I can see it every day. It's calming, and it reminds me that I want a lover who will be that one, on the deck of a boat late at night, thinking of only me and the perfectness of his desire for me. Thank you.

Madison - really loved 'lovers and other mirages'. The words held so much meaning and the picture was beautiful and complimented it so well. From: TJ Holland
Date: 9 July 2001

Dear Luce_Bruffel ~ it's very nice to see new people at the Blender site. And nice to see you here, specifically. To comment on your poems as you requested...the ideas are wonderful, and it seems you have some good insight to how you feel about things. For me, when I read certain poems that rhyme, I 'read' the undue effort the poet is exerting to try and fit his/her thoughts into what he/she thinks the rhyme pattern should be. So the poem ends up sounding 'forced' and it can tend to lose it's emotion and the natural stream of thought that it would otherwise have had if the poet didn't try so hard to make it rhyme. Most often, when a rhyme really works is when it ADDS to what the poem is saying, rather than detracting anything from it. Rhyming can be very useful in this way. Have you thought about trying a few 'stream of consciousness' poems and just writing all your thoughts out, then refining them to a few concise lines that really say something with a punch, neverminding if they rhyme? It could be fun!! Anyway, that's my input, for what it's worth! Keep on writing!

To Stevr ~ "Exploring" was very thought provoking ! ! !
I especially liked the ending "Often when one goes out exploring, they lose what they have already discovered."
So so true.... reminds me of a story that I was told when I was very little - of a dog who had a huge luscious bone - and seemed satisfied with it, until one day he saw his own reflection in a lake - thinking it to be another dog - he began to desire the other dog's bone - So he let go of his, in order to snatch the bone away from the dog in the lake - only to lose the one he had, as it fell to the bottom of the lake - and he wound up with nothing.....
Thanks for sharing these with us ! ! !

handled a most touchy subject with magnificent tact. A thought provoking piece showing the pitfalls of falling in love too easily - or too fast - CAUTION ! ! ! BRAVO !

To Greysky ~ "Sigh" - I can feel your tenderness.... I really can !! Your writing continues to be amazing....

To B.K. ~ "Reflected by Two" - Your talent really shows here..... You said so much with so little ! ! Excellent...

To Flash ~ "Senseless" - reminds me of an old song - "All of Me - why not take all of me - take my lips, i'll never use them, take my arms - i'll only lose them, etc " - I know I have screwed it up - but you get the idea...
Good Job ! ! !

To B.K. ~ "Deeply Twisted Love" - FANTASTIC !!! -
Reminded me of when I used to see names carved on a tree with the heart and arrow - and how I used to wonder if they were still together....

To greysky ~ "RAVAGE" - WOW - What can I say ? ? ?
except - I would love to meet the likes of you in a dark alley - You can rape me with your words, anytime...
*giggle (saved by the giggle).... *Wink

To Untamed Bird ~ "Make Me" is both CUTE and CREATIVE...

To Zerch ~ "Two Simple Questions" - Definitely a 'Free Flowing Journey for the Heart' - Your writing is unique !!

To Deevaa ~ "Getting Ready" and "Come Here" are terribly erotic - Your paintings are MAGNIFICENT !!! You seem to have captured 'R' and 'X' rated aura with PG paint....
These two are my favorites so far.... You just keep getting better and better.... WOW

To Flash ~ "FAR" short but to the point! It's nice when you can feel so close to someone, even when they are not present.... good job ...

To Dragonfleyes ~ "Barren Skin" was AWESOME - *Sigh

To Kalea1969 ~ I loved the metaphor in "SUNBURN" - how someone who brings light and brightness into your life, can also burn you good !!! - ALSO -
"CARESS MY SOUL" - read like an erotic diary - GREAT!!

To ~*Truelies*~ - "THAT SCAR" , So many skeletons in each closet - baggage from the past - we will never know if someone doesn't want to talk about it. really made me think- I love the way it looked and read - thanks !

To h ~ "RED MOON" - OUCH !! I loved it.... I really did..
While reading it - I was the wind touching your rough face.... the wet waves beneath your feet.... and COULD feel your breath in my mouth - DOUBLE OUCH !! REMARKABLE !!!

To Galadrial ~ "Love Sounds" was GREAT - BUT
"IN LOVE WITH THE WORDS" was ABSOLUTELY BREATH-TAKING !!
it was such pleasure to read - like floating effortlessly thru a waltz - but with so much meaning - HOW TRUE - that love should be more than words - so much more !!!
You are one VERY talented lady !!!

Hi, thanx for the comment. I agree that all of my poems seem to rhyme, all in all I have written about 27 poems, the majority of them not rhyming. To be honest though, I think people relate to poems more when they are rythmic, otherwise, people lose track and understanding of the poem. They rhyme by chance more than anything, I get across how I was feeling at a particular time in my life using rhyme. The rhyming sequence is representative of my life, as it is always constantly on the go, if my poem didnt rhyme, it simply wouldnt be an image of the way I was feeling at that time. Check out my newest addition, cheers

luce_bruffell ~

I'm so glad that you didn't take offense to my comments! How refreshing to be able to provide what someone asks for without retribution! I read the new poem and I liked it very much. To me the rythm was more natural and appealing. And of course, rythm IS different than rhyme. One thing I tend to do when writing, is to "free-fall" write, which is what I suggested you try (in my other comment). I do that and then am sure to spend a while working out the bugs...refining it. I'll read it out loud a million times...change things a bit, be sure the rythm, grammar, ideas are all there and good. It makes for a fine finished product (even then I don't call it close to perfect). I guess that is why I don't submit many poems any more. I don't have as much time to work on them this way, and I'd rather have one really good one, than 15 sloppy ones. (though sometimes I just can't wait to get one on the Blender!!) Anyway, some of the things I liked best about your poem were the similies and metaphors. For example; "visable to my waterfall eyes"...what a line!! And this one... "Banish the longing of one single kiss/Demolish the addiction of your touch"...it says so much for the way we feel when we want someone desperately. And the line about 'haunt my sterilized soul', I liked that idea alot- I think I have a sterilized soul! Hahahaha!! This line..."Every memory of us together laughs in my face" really brought stuff back to me. It is so true how my memories of my ex-husband just laugh in my face. You hit that one on the head for me! So.............sorry I rambled on so much. You're fun to talk about poetry with because you know how to take comments. Thanks for being you!

Sorry, quick test: The Real Message
[2001.05.29.21.19.13812]

From: wistful
Date: 11 July 2001

Okay, all you fabulous poets out there: I have a challenge for you! [insert medieval jousting fanfare here]

We've all had fun with the haiku. Some of you reached amazing depths in these brief but beautiful expressions of your souls. But now . . . NOW . . . I throw down the gauntlet: a new challenge to all of you! BWAHAAHAAHAAHAAA! (Maniacal laughter does not translate very well to writing, does it?)

Over the last couple of months, I've been toying with this form: Using a phrase or series of words that expresses a particular thought or emotion as the first letters of the lines of a poem. Then the text of the poem either supports/describes/details that thought/emotion, like Gone , or if you prefer irony (and who doesn’t?), directly contradicts it (see The Real Message ). So when you read the first column of letters in the poem from top to bottom, it’s like a hidden message, a punchline to a joke, or the answer to a riddle.

I’m sure this form has a name, but I’m not quite literate enough to know what it is . . . extra points to anyone who names it!

Anyhoo, that’s the challenge. Write one of these little poems, will ya? I don’t have a prize or anything, but I’m sure you’ll earn the vast and undying admiration of your peers for stepping up to the plate. Come on, I dare ya. I double-dog dare ya! I’ll even start you off: Too Busy To Miss You.

(Bonus to anyone who’s already figured out that this is just one more ploy to keep myself from missing my sweetie while he’s away . . .help!)

Jenna (Holland);

We've never met, but it is because of you that I've been posting to the love blender! Some months back, you posted two works by a mutual friend. When he & I started dating, he did a google search on my name, and since I do a lot of community theatre, he found a bunch of reviews and pictures of me on the web. So when I returned the favor and looked up *his* name, I found his poems that you posted on the love blender. Then I started reading, and got hooked. I hadn't tried poetry since middle school, but this same mutual friend was a form of muse to me in the brief but heady time of our fling. Check out my poems about him, and see if you can guess who it is . . .You glow brightly, my love , The whirlwind , Elegy for a Muse , and Online Love .

(BTW, we're still friends. He agreed to stay my muse, and help me develop as a poet) :-)

Ali ~ thank you as always for liking my stuff! It always amazes me when people say they like something of mine, especially as usually they like the work I'm not too sure on. Thanks!

Harem - Thank you, I'm glad you liked 'That Scar'. He finally told me what it was and all I can say is OUCH, it must a hurt!!!

Wistful - A note on your challenge. I believe the form is called acrostic, or in this case single acrostic. It's a good challenge I must agree. I have used acrostic poems before, only no one ever seems to notice! :-) So I gave up trying them, but it'll be good to have another go.

I haven't got time to write all the poems I've read and liked, and there's quite afew, so perhaps later I will.

Elaina (Blue Sky...),

I really like your last three submissions, especially "All I'm Asking." I think I know *exactly* how you feel, it is so hard to understand why people can't or won't tell you why they left. I went through it a few months ago, and it nearly killed me. I, like you, knew that she would never love me. All I wanted to know was what happened, so I could have some closure, and some peace (I tortured myself wondering what it was I had done...). Five months went by, we talked a few times, and all she gave me were lies or half-truths at best. Nothing she said made any sense. It just didn't add up. So the other day, I finally got a letter from her explaining the whole thing. All of a sudden everything she said or did since the day she left made sense to me. I can't say it hurts any less, since in my mind she overreacted, but at least I have that closure, and I feel like I can finally begin to move on.

It's funny how she thought that not telling me the truth would protect my feelings, when it had the exact opposite effect. It was as if she didn't even respect or care about me enough to give me the truth. She didn't realize that the truth was the medicine I needed to finally heal the wound. But, as I've come to understand, she was just so afraid. Sometimes people have been hurt so much when they have told the truth in the past, so they try to protect themselves with lies. I have been there, too... so I understood where she was coming from.

Well, I just wanted to let you know I relate to what you are going through. And I hope you get the answers you seek... but if you don't, remember that his ability to tell the truth has nothing to do with you. It's not something you did or said wrong that keeps him from being honest. It is a pain or fear that he just can't face right now... unfortunately, that is all too common in life. Not all of us have the courage to wear our hearts on our sleeves...

Peace to you,
Flash

luce_bruffell - I liked your latest poem 'I miss your everything'. It's really different to the other works you've submitted. I'm not a big fan of sterile rhymes - I mean rhymes that just seem to be there to rhyme, and don't take it bad when perhaps I say I thought this a little in your first few subs... but I REALLY like the new piece! Perhaps the sterile rhymes was harsh - I guess to be more precise it's just a personal preference (even tho i'm guilty of the rhyme thing myself). I hope this kinda makes sense to you, cus Im confused. Anyways, basically I loved the new poem because it's just rich with images and just has a good flow and I just luved it!

First off, thanks to everyone who accepted my acrostic challenge! (And thanks to ~*Truelies*~ for knowing what they're called!) It was great fun reading them; I hope they were as fun to write. Wild~flower, Ali, ~*Truelies*~, B.K.: thanks for playing with me! (beats playing with myself ;-p)

Teej: Yes, some powerful emotions were flowin' last night when I wrote "Betrayed". It's amazing what hormones and sleep-deprivation can do! Also, yes, you are very perceptive: "The Waiting Game" was written about the same guy. Actually, so were "Worth the Wait", "My Heart Sings", "Mine!", "Something Tells Me", and "Holding Air". But truth be told, the betrayal I felt was mostly self-anger because he's away on vacation, I'm obsessing, and I suspect he may be running scared from me: too much, too soon. We'll see.

~Harem~: Thanks for the kind words about "Betrayed". Whenever I write from a 'real' spot, the words just pour out. This one was a 10 minute spew. And yet, you're right, it *almost* rhymes. [insert Twilight Zone music here]. Your comment about the message resounding like a bell was very insightful; I hadn't even noticed myself that the word 'betrayed' was tolling like a death-knell. Your own prolificness is a constant amazement!

B.K. -- Are your ants indoors or outdoors? If they're indoors, you can try green sage -- just scatter the leaves around in the area where you find the ants. If you can get them where you are, you could also try what we in the Midwest used to call hedge apples -- they're actually the fruit of a tree, their real name is osage orange. They're about the size of big oranges, wrinkly, look sort of like a brain. I know they work on crickets but I'm not sure about ants. Let me know if you have any success!

Harem: Thanks, Mahalo for ur comment. U got exactly what I felt when I wrote my poems.. I feel all of what I write acts as a journal of what is going on in my life.. Lately it has been what has been going on in my love life..lol.. But hey, it is a learning experience, and makes for great poetry, because when I am full of emotions...I may burst.. I write.
I have tp say it does mean something to me when, others who do write comment on my work. I haven't done it for a long time, and still feel new to it. I have only been doing this for a year or two. Most of what I write comes from journal entries.. or just plain emotion.. that happens to rhyme..lol...

Hey Gup; We don't care what you write, give us your laundry and grocery lists..ha just write for us. And yes maybe the muckrakers will leave us alone with Kirks new system in place.***

Chris; Misti's writing is still powerful, seems she enjoys taking us through the darker shades. Hope you will post more for us.

Keeperofthegloom; You made me cry this morning, so you have to be someone I know. Not many can do that.

Echolocation and SCQueen; I've tried cinnamon and it works for a bit and then they just find another way in. I love the idea of sage leaves, will try that. We do have hedgeapples here but the only things I've ever used them for are catapulting as a kid. SC, I like the idea of egg shells around the house. That would put nutrients into the soil. Will try that one for sure. I also got a recipe, you take hot peppers and onions and put them in water for two weeks and then spray the water where ever you see them. Going to try this too. These devils have annoyed me for too long now but I like them better than the poisons they want to kill them with. Thank You Both!

BK, not sure if "muckrakers" is the term you're looking for, since they were the ones is when raking through the muck, looking to expose corruption and other bad things to the public view. Perhaps "muckslingers" is closer to what you're looking for? (I still like the concept of "drive-by shoutings", one little vowel switch can be a lot of fun.)

In any case, I'm pretty happy with how the system's worked out so far. While it's hardly bulletproof, it does make doing irritating things anonymously from an absolutely trivial task to one taking a bit of work... It had some other nice benefits as well, letting someone see all the works of an author's account. (I didn't go out of my way to enforce one blender account per e-mail address, though I don't like when people abuse playing with multiple net personalities.)

Misti; Glad to see you back on the page. It's wonderful to see the whole gang back actually. Let's rock these pages to another cool million!!!

I couldn't stop reading all the wonderful entries tonight...

Stereophonics - "Caravan Holiday" was so perfect to put in song, I actually started singing it.. I loved it.."Seven day holiday in the rain with you" Do de do.. Hehe

Pix - "Runner at Heart" was nicely worded and put together, I've always been a sucker for poems that end with titles... Anyways, it's a paradox, you want to feel secure, so you run away, yet you are depressed about it...I'm sure you'll find a person who will make you feel secure enough... or who will tie you down...*grins*

~Harem~ - "*Intensity" was .. Intense.. Reminded me a little bit the way Terry Goodkind describes making love. After reading this poem, I started going back on other poems you've done(I love that new feature that was put in!).. Quite a few I liked... thanks for the entertainment!

...thanks for giving me stuff to read at work everyone.. keep submitting!

I haven't posted for awhile, because I was trying to push away my feelings instead of deal with them and your poem jolted me back to my emotions. I don't know what to say I feel as if you've taken an excerpt from my personal drama and mixed your truth into it. Thank you, for being so honest and real in your work, it's almost heartbreaking. Once again, thank you!

thank you for your response to my work. Those two poems were written over a year ago, but I shelved them since they seemed a little too raw at the time. All I can ever hope for is that some of what I write resonoates with someone besides myself, otherwise what would be the point in posting it?

OK, quick technical question -- I see that all submissions now have a link code. How do you embed one of these into a message on the Board so it works? I didn't see the info anywhere (though I notice one or two people have mastered it so I know it's possible!) Rather than do a whole bunch of (probably incorrect) test postings I thought I'd just ask... (Kirk, perhaps on the page where comments are submitted there could be a brief sample, "To include the name of a poem in your comment as a link, do this yadda yadda yadda.")

(Hee hee, now that I know how to stick names in here I'm indulging myself by putting in a LOT of them...)

Gala - Tango One and Tango Two are great - and what a perfect title! (Ever since I saw "True Lies" I thought the tango was about the sexiest dance there is. YOu can keep your Dirty Dancing and your Lambada, baby, give me a tango every time!)

Kevin - knife is another one that packs a lot of punch into a few lines. It's almost like a companion piece to Tanq's Requiem

Isabella - You asked for some feedback on Forgotten, so for what it's worth here's my $.02. The first part is good, the way the writer keeps insisting they've forgotten even though obviously they're all tangled up in remembering (we all know THAT feeling). I also like the progression in the first 4 stanzas (lump in throat -> tears in eyes -> tears on face -> recovering). It might have been stronger if it had ended there, a nice circle; the remaining stanzas don't have the same "feel" and almost seem like they're a separate piece.

jesseandrews--Hey I'm fine with that, the writing did seem corny, and not original, again, like I said, I am more concerned with that just she sent it to me.. not who it was by... From: Petro
Date: 21 July 2001

I have been reading here for about 7 months now. I find this to be an incredible site, rich in examples of the human mind -in, and out, of love. Of the many poets here, a few stand out like red on black: TJ Holland, Untamed Bird, h., Neon Screams, and greysky.

In particular I would comment on TJ Holland's work. As I read, (if I do so slowly, concentrating on the precise wording) I begin to feel my emotions change to whatever I feel she/he is feeling as she/he writes. I didn't react this way at first, but as I really payed attention to the poems of this author, I saw how incredibly intelligent she/he is. And I began to see what she/he was truly saying. To her/him, I say "Bravo!!, The others will catch up, eventually. In the meantime, just know that I am reading, and with that, understanding."

To all of the writers I have mentioned, your work may seem to be passed over as seemingly unimportant by the 'regulars' here, but do not let that discourage you, there are people reading who spend their time and careers reading and publishing works by the likes of you. I encourage all of you to continue to cast in ink all the glory that is in you.

From: MichaelT()
Date: 21 July 2001

Dubal ~ I think what jackrhyme may be trying to imply (though I'm only speaking for myself here) is that this may not be an appropriate forum for your devotions to Jesus. I believe in God too, but I only demonstrate my spirituality in places and at times that it will be effective and uplifting for me or others around me...most often that is a personal thing...reserved for church meetings, and quiet conversations with an interested person. And honestly, bringing religion up at times that it is not welcome is not doing God any favors, it just breeds resentment and closes people's minds.

To Kaleal1969 ~
About your question - as you fall asleep - you go into a poetry mode.... Yes, for me it kind of works that way.....
I have had nights, that poems woke me up out of a sound sleep.... and if I go back to sleep - I often lose them...
So, now, instead of running downstairs- half asleep -
to key them into the computer, I keep a pad of paper and a pen, next to my bed, and I jot them down, when they wake me up.... and then I can go back to sleep.
One night, I gotten woken up at least twenty times....and each time, I jotted the words down, piece by piece. When I got up in the morning, I took the pad with me to work..... Low and behold, I had the makings of five great poems.... *giggle.....
Do poems wake you up in the night, begging to be written?
I even wrote a poem about that.... look at the new submissions page.... and see.... *sigh...

I’m not sure there’s an answer. Or the answer is you can’t be sure. I remember my last marriage, telling everyone who would listen “you’ll know when it’s right, you’ll have NO doubt about it” Just like me! I was certain. Positive. Soulmates. Was I wrong? You could stay tuned to find out. But hopefully, not for as many years as I did. In retrospect, most of the relationship was a testamonial to Oxymorons. And I married Oxy (just call me Mrs. Moron). Today? I’m with Oscar. [see HMS above] Go with your gut (heart). And then your head. Or your head and then your heart. Just be sure to give heart and instinct equal time. And pay attention to little things that might irritate you now. Because those things only get worse, trust this. And much of what you fall in love with becomes the very thing that drives you mad in the end. Thank God for second chances, and best of luck with your first. Du Doll,

I figured love was already there considering if you are actually gonna marry somebody you already have made that clear that you love them. You know as well as I do, that God sustains marriages and restores them. So though marriage is based around love... Who is Love? Is it not God? So who better than he to know that if this is the right person or not. Love, the way the world views it, you know for yourself does not last, only love the God gives. The love I have for you as my dear friend will last until eternity, because I know God has given it to me. So my answer remains, pray, seek God, and follow his guidance. My prayers are with you.

Love Dubal

Dubal ~ I was just reading your comment to Du'Doll and a question arose in my mind...

You said, "Love, the way the world views it, you know for yourself does not last, only love the God gives." Should I read this to understand that the love between a man and woman is finite, and relatively trivial in the sense of eternity? And then read your other statement, "The love I have for you as my dear friend will last until eternity, because I know God has given it to me." and understand you to be saying that your 'love' as a friend is infinite and more valid in God's eyes?

I'm really curious and not trying to be hostile in any way.

Another question(s) I have, that also is not hostile, but IS intended to make a point...Why are you still submitting poems that are off topic? Are you waiting for Kirk to delete them, or are you so caught up in what you THINK God wants you to do (ie: preach in inappropriate places) that you will go so far as to actually alienate God (and the idea of Him) among groups of people, or are you just trying to piss people off and alienate yourself via God?

Just wondering...

From: TheDubalPoet
Date: 27 July 2001

TJ,

In answer to your question, the "love for my friend that will last an eternity" was given by God, and since God is the past, present, and future cause he has always existed, therefore my love is infinite only cause God gave it to me and that it is not of myself but a gift of God. (like salvation). The love God has for man is greater than any man for a women. We cannot comprehend it. The love of this world will perish because it is not pure love. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) explains Godly love. Only God's children can know true love, cause only they know God. As for making people mad about my poems... I'm here to write poetry from my heart, and these are my intimate feelings for God. Yes they are off topic I admit, but I want to post my poetry so that others will read it, and see the hope and joy that I have in Christ. For I'm not out for personal glory, but for the glory of Christ my savior, and to point in his direction so that others may come to know Him. I'm not driving people away from christianity, it is their choice to follow, or not. When they stand before the judgement throne of God, the punishment won't be thrown on me for their unbelief, but theirs. The Bible speaks about this read it sometime, a lot of truth is in there.

God Bless
Dubal

HMS: Thanks for the feedback on Undone! It’s so gratifying to know when you’ve connected with someone else. This was one of those midnight inspirations that ~Harem~ and Kaleal1969 were chatting about: I was going to bed, took a quick look around my messy house, and the word “Undone” popped in my head. And it wouldn’t leave. So I got up, went to the whiteboard on my fridge and wrote “What in your life have you left undone?” And went back to bed. Still not enough. So I got up, went to the PC, wrote the poem, and *finally* got to sleep!

From: TJ Holland
Date: 28 July 2001

Well, Dubal, thank you for your response. I don't think you really addressed what I was asking you, but then I probably should have been clearer.

As for your suggestion that I read the bible sometime...I am kind of put off by your blatant assumption that I haven't. I hope you don't feel that you are the only person who has a personal relationship with God. I HAVE read the Bible, from front to back 3 times and then in sections, according to what I need or am looking for, for the last 20 years or so. I am quite familiar with the book, and quite familiar with the nature of God (as I understand Him).

From reading your comment I get the sense that you are the type of 'Christian' that really doesn't understand human nature, OR the nature of God, and you believe that you are better, smarter, or more special than people you have judged to be sinners or 'lessers' than yourself. To me, that in itself is a sin. You say that you are trying to assist in the salvation of others and that you won't be judged for their lack of response. I think that you probably WILL be judged for YOUR unrighteous passing of judgement. I say you should probably just worry about your own salvation, and the fact that you think it's "in the bag". That kind of attitude comes right before a big fall.

I could quote quite a few scriptures that I could use to back me up on this but, as with most passages of the bible, we can twist them to mean what we want them to. And besides, I'm done with the religious conversation here. I didn't even want to encourage you that way this time around, but your comment was so judgemental and so arrogantly pious that I just couldn't NOT respond. Anyway, there's no need to respond to me on this. I won't be talking about it any more. You seem to get off on the attention and use that to get pack up on your pulpit.

I regret that this is such a harsh comment, and I now realize you're oblivious to what anyone, besides yourself, is saying. I really don't mean to trash you in anyway, but I just had to get it all out. And I'm done.

Hey Everyone,

Thank you so much for all of your comments. Everything everyone said just told me is something I already knew. I knew the answer all along. I love this man. I want to spend the rest of my life with him. Honestly I couldn't see myself growing old, grey, and ugly with anyone else. The first thing that is on my mind every morning is him. All day I think about him, what he is doing, where he is, that sort of thing. Then at night as I drift into a sleep full of dreams, my last thought is of him. I always gave myself rules. A certain plan that had to be followed. He wasn't a part of it. In fact I hated him for as long as I knew him! But for five years he has kept trying. All I did was say yes one time. He has broken the wall that I had built around myself. And in return I have learned how to break my own rules. I have never felt so alive. I know our marriage wouldn't be perfect, but we are both willing to stick through it and work hard. Hopefully I won't have to move on to a second, but if so. I won't, couldn't be able to consider him and I a mistake. How will I know if he is the one unless I take a chance? All I know, or need to know is that I love him. Thanks so much everyone!

I loved your poem hurricane...It shows how some people who love someone very much would do anything to get to them no matter what it took....
When are you going to write more?

~*greysky*~ Reading the Dance left me awestruck and speechless. It is an amazing piece.

~*kevin*~ for you was such a thrill to read!! It has certainly been the highlight of my morning thus far(beating out the David and Goliath sermon even).

Love Always,
Laurel

Something you all might consider in this over-zealous religion thing. Some people can't get any but negative attention and they will take it any way they can. Maybe if you just ignore, skip over it and don't read it it will go away. But otherwise you are just adding fuel to the fire. Just my thoughts anyway.

MichaelT--
I'm a long time reader and rare submitter to the Blender, but I have to comment on your poems. It's been awhile since I've visited, but once I read your latest, I had to go back and read the rest. They're all wonderful! Keep up the good work.

Actually Whitney...I did.

I've been lurking a while. Didn't think anyone had noticed my absence. What is the line from the Kostner movie?
If you build it, they will come? Well they also say not to speak the devil's name...that will learn ya!

Just catching up on some of the earlier subs. Found a lot of good stuff, but for where I'm at right now in the Blender of Life, Wistful, "Betrayed" was right on the money. (Actually, I'll see your betrayal and raise you--he not only showed me he loved me, he told me so all the time, and when I asked him MONTHS AGO if his feelings for me had changed, he accused me of being insecure: "how can you doubt me like that?" NOW he tells me he had doubts all along and it was probably "a mistake not to have told you." Well, duh...) I swear, I'm not playing this game any more.

~*Harem*~ You continually amaze and inspire me. ~A Gift ~ gave me a goofy grin I wore around all day. It's nice to think some beautiful things can be so simple.

~*pix*~ Amen on 100 Things i want in a guy !! 'Nuff said.

~*Madison*~ a truce had such beautiful imagery. I thoroughly enjoyed the read.

Love Always,
Laurel

Laurel, thank you so much. I’d been meaning to tell you how much I enjoyed reading Homecoming. It was sweetly-sad/happy and real; it sounded as if I were listening to a girlfriend tell the story over another day’s brew of coffee. – definitely an aromatic read.

"Healing silence" is beautiful... it reminds me of a situation I find myself in all of a sudden. I guess I'll never understand the reasons why there must be silence, though...

tj---amen to your observations of the chatroom subculture...and i emphasize sub...although, i do credit the existence of chat rooms for introducing me to a whole heap of dear distant friends, deevaa being one of them...and i might never have found the blender had dee not submitted something i wrote without asking permission first...ha

off the subject, anybody out there hiring???...i can do anything that needs doing...

later,
gup

Dale Rhodes ~ I concur with Harem! THE BRIDGE is, in my opinion, the best written poem I have seen on the Blender this month!! Have you been writing for a long time, or are you just THAT great naturally??

And gup ~ I think, from what I've seen, that you are right- there could be good uses for chat rooms. Quite a few actually. But SHEESH! I was shocked at the savage and hedonistic 'behavior' I saw there. I went to a few rooms and they were all on par with the first. If that is an accurate sampling of humanity today, I'm ashamed to be human! (I'll be getting over the shock soon, methinks...mehopes)

Hey TJ?

Know of a few poet chats that are normal...send me an e if you're interested...and promise...no one will ask for ASL, okay?

And I agree---The Bridge is damned awesome. Who was that masked man?

gup -- I miss you, you know. I thought you'd died, esp. since I've not seen you on ICQ or in my inbox in so damn long.

gala (((hugs))) take care of YOU... ok?

take care of your hearts,

dee

I tried a chat room once and was completely intimidated about how to even start, so it's helpful to know I'm not missing out on anything! Do I want to know what ASL is?

TJ-I'm not sure if you answer Dubal's important question: HAVE you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior? I guess I'm just a disrespectful headed-for-Hell Episcopalian, but that phrase just cracks me up. It reminds me of the airline people telling me to collect my "personal belongings." "Oh, excuse me, miss, I believe your Lord and Personal Savior is still stowed under the seat in front of you..." Sorry, folks, but I have to believe that God and Jesus both have a sense of humor. If not, I think I'd prefer to go to Hell, anyway.

Right on, HMS...to paraphrase Edward Abbey (he was talking about some other ideological fad), born-again Christianity is a "neurosis for which we do not yet have a name."
