Amputate

Funny...

it started out a gaping wound.

Flesh torn, blood welling.

Get a compress fool!

Don't just sit there.

Isn't it lovely - the bright rich red

against your skin so pale?  Fascinating!

Bandage it up - remove the gash from public eye

and still - - it weeps.



Salve! Salve will do the trick - cover it up -

smooth it, heal it.

Why does it weep still,

grow infected, ooze with puss - lined with

angry red ridges - refusing to close?



Obsess about it - scratch at it - 

are you sure you want it to heal?



Give it air - give it time, the body will

repair itself.

If not - then amputate!
