Simplicity.

As the curtain falls,

Trust a discovery?

In corners and caverns,

Shadows and veils

Cower and cringe

Shudder and whimper

Cry to the hours,

To the horribly silent.

Weep to Doisneau,

Weep to paper angels.

Weep to Monet,

Weep to hollow vessels.

Blindfolded and drunk

Grasp air and fall

Seeking and yet never finding.

Seek in the black and white kisses

Seek in winged imaginations

Seek in emotive tulips

Seek in tainted black.

Lessons are hardest learned

When they are already known.

What is ever-sought

Can remain never-found.
