Forbidden Love

You've always been like a brother to me,
and forever showed you cared.
You helped me when I was down and out,
but mock me you never dared.
We'd laugh hysterically and talk seriously,
and sometimes I would cry.
You gave advice you thought was best
which I'd humbly listen to and sigh.
For as you spoke your words of wisdom,
I held a secret deep inside.
Far within my heart it remained,
one so forbidden I had to hide.
You are my brother's best friend,
and "you and I" could never be.
So each night as you sek a new love,
I'll be dreaming of you loving me!
