Long since forgotten
Our friendship, that is.
A smile once in a blue moon.
They say all wounds heal with time,
But the time passed us by so soon.

I need to see your face right now
Beautiful eyes that see right through--
The eyes that know what's in my heart
When I havent got a clue.

You know that I am different now
I know you must believe
Our time has come and gone long ago
Fond memories we must retrieve.

If I didnt know better, 
I'd tell you again
Things could one day be the same
But I do know better, and all 
I would do is end up with my heart all aflame.

It's not what you think
I ask not for a kiss or a touch of your hand
Just a grasp of the best friend
I know I once had.
