THE LIGHT OF YOUR LOVE
The sun arrives and gilds the summer day,
embellishing the fields of corn and wheat,
and leaves me thinking of you, so I greet
this star, but sing your love, along my way.
The sun that only lends a twilight tone
to groves and forest trails, but never braves
beyond the entrance of retreats or caves,
completes its journey when the day has gone.
Your love, a light my love reflects and bends,
and never leaves me wherever I go,
is like the sun that lies upon the lands,
and like its flames, it sets my heart aglow.
The sun can't reach the caves and forest stands,
your love is tender light that fills my soul.
