Early morning sunrise
and dawn's light fills my eyes
your silent silhouetted figure
steps into my youthful view
you smell of wild adventure
and a sweet midnight breeze
of moonlighted moments
beneath the great open sky
the stars cannot show my heart the way
and I am lost inside your arms
Dare I to dream of another?
Dare I to remember sweet lover's bliss?
Yes, my dear, I believe you to be
                      temptation
sent by the fates
I've already been shown I cannot have it all
Now I must decide
who be more important
Shall I to go with my heart's content
whose very touch sends me away
and who's eyes burn truth
into my very soul
or shall I take the fool's path
traversing where once travelers have fallen
There is nothing there for me
And I mustn't cross that bridge
For the other's burning
could hurt me so much more
And so my dearest endeavour--
I must vow to say goodbye
and return to the love I know
Forgive me for not loving you
as I may have easily done
But please remember me
when you are again
cold and alone
and remember how we
burned
in each other's arms.
