September... the start of a new school year and a whole new Blender
of Love Digest.
This month, I decided to aggresively miss the point of pretty much every poem
that has been selected for the front page, instead commenting only on
inconsequential and random factoids on each one. (Long term readers may respond with "and this is different from a regular month how?" Well we don't need that kind of cynicism
Plus, this month's Blender Feature i
is just a montage of photos I made for my own girlfriend.
Shocking abuses of my authority here at the Blender...but sometimes, "it's good to be the keeper".
But still, another good month, so read and enjoy!
rambling thoughts during the rain on a perfectly cloudless sunshiney day
This title astounded me. I read it, and somehow my subconsciousness picked up on the contradiction, and I had to reread until the paradox could bubble up to my conscious mind.
Dreamcatchers...aren't those also those little New Age-y things, with a hole to let good dreams through and threads to ensnare nightmares? I always wondered about the implication that nightmares are bigger than dreams.
- Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Submitted by B.K..
I also liked the quote "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye" until I realized he wasn't talking about Oxygen molecules.
I love German. It's like Lego for Syllables!
- briana kassia
That is a great, great word.
black sky, white smoke
I'm bummed about Pluto too.
THREE LITTLE DITTIES:
Three for one special!
I sometimes dig works that reference the Blender, as long as they aren't too sycophantic. Hate for this to be a swan song, though.
in my youth
Best opening line of the month.
searching for nothing more (thinking out loud)
- i'm just him
Just the other day my friends were quoting the whole "no inner monologue" routine from "Austin Powers".
This month's top of the page quote.
A Girl Knows...
For some reason this reminds me of Captain Kirk's quote,
"Worlds may change, galaxies disintegrate, but a woman... always remains a woman."
i'll be your guardian angel
Hey, remember those "Guardian Angels" in New York City? Whatever happened to them?
Blender Feature Work
A small montage project to celebrate a date-a-versary...
Heart on Sleeve Corner
more heartsongs sent to the Blender last month.
