We'll Get By

10/27/96
9:02 p.m.

The rose you gave me
		it's on my dresser

And your pictures
		lie along the wall

There's this box I have
		tucked away

Remembrances of you
		lie inside

It's harder now
		not to cry

With you not here
		and me not there

But somehow
		we'll get by

I know
		we'll get by

Sometimes it's hard
		to go to my dresser

The rose is just a reminder
		of happiness from the past

And sometimes its hard to wake in the morning
cause the wall's right there and your face's on it

Once in awhile I'll open the flaps
to the dusty box, tucked away

And staring up at me is you
		my remembrances of our love

It's harder now

		but we'll get by

I dry my tears (each night)

		but we'll get by

Don't worry now

		cause we'll get by

And I'll think of you

as each petal falls (down on my dresser)

And I'll think of you

as look towards the wall and you smile back

And I'll think of you

as I close the flaps and tuck the box away

Cause I know that I'll see you again

		and we'll get by

It's harder now

		but we'll get by

Don't worry now

		cause we'll get by

I Love You Dear

		and we'll get by
