Guilt
My hands reached out towards you
As I held him tight.
My fingers caressed your face
As I felt the dimple in his chin.
My eyes sought your honest blue
As they pierced into the brown.
I reached my heart towards yours
When I heard it snap.
My shocked hands removed their grasp.
My lips pulled away from the foreign skin.
My mouth agape, I stared
As I saw it was not you but him.
Tears filled my eyes
As my feet flew out the door.
My guilt and grief is one that
I shall bear forever more.
Though you asked me to tell you,
I know that I can't.
But I know that you'll know,
As your blues look deep into
The shallow grey of mine.
I am sorry love,
I will speak no more.
