When I'm 18 I will...

When I'm 18...
I will leave those mess-ups behind and live for today
I will be more independant, but i'll prolly feel the same

When I'm 18...
I will pass up on the right of being able to smoke
I will ignore what those peers said, to let it not soak

When I'm 18...
I will block those visions of the girls I've dated
I will not forget the lessions that can be related

When I'm 18...
I will forget that popular one I lost my innocence to
I will finish up school, and finish my friends that were "cool"

When I'm 18...
I will loose the thought of my first young love
I will surrender the sweetness, and the beauty it ever was

When I'm 18...
I will gain all my new freedom, and have it stripped
I will beg for it back, but you'll just flip

When I'm 18...
I will cry when you take your gifts and leave
I will lay on the floor, not being able to conceive

Why all this and more has to happen...
                                        When I'm 18
