Accent on Love
Of all the things that attracted me to you
I imagine none of them are permanent
When we sit side by side in our old age
We’ll wonder where our youth went
I’ll recall the way you filled out your jeans
And your beautiful foreign face
Your hair as soft and as dark as a shadow
Most likely will have been replaced
But the foundations we’ve laid, will see us through
And cement our hearts for life
I should never expect to feel a regret
For taking you as my wife
But there is one attraction, and I hope it lasts
It’s selfish I must admit
When I talk to God, my prayer is spent
Asking you never lose your accent
