CLOSE YOUR EYES (AND I'LL BE GONE)
Take me home to yesterday
And the life that we knew,
To falling leaves and starry skies,
And being with you;
Was it just a crazy dream,
Or is heaven real?
I never knew that love could make
Me feel like I feel.
But when I wake
My life is so empty,
I find there's only heartache
Where your love used to be;
I tell myslf
The pain will not last long,
Just close your eyes
And I'll be gone.
Spring skies are gray to me,
I'm walking in rain;
When I see that empty place
It's never the same;
How can I wish you well
As you go on your way?
Words can never say to you
What my heart wants to say.
I hear your voice
When I rise to greet the day,

In an everchanging way;
When you turn to leave
And life goes passing on,
