Destiny

			The time has come – here and now
			Destiny will not be denied
			I feel it in my heart as surely as
			The blood courses through my veins

			I wait patiently for our paths to cross
			Fear and longing my truest companions
			For I know it will change both our lives forever
			As much as I try to be strong and cavalier
			Fate will not allow it
			Forcing me to bow to a greater power

			Love – pure and simple
			Unable to hide within myself
			Tortured by visions of us
			Our bodies intertwined,
			Hearts beating in rapturous unison

			Even now I can feel your thoughts turning to me
			I can hear your inner voice
			Struggling to deny what your heart won’t let you
			You thirst for some feeling of regret or remorse
			Only to find the well empty

			The battle has already been lost
			Neither of us the victor – still we win the war
			You see – Love conquers all

			And soon – when all is said and done
			I will share this with you
			And you shall know what I know
			See what I see – it was meant to be

			Our faith in love restored
			God’s promise to us fulfilled
			What we choose to do with it is yet undetermined
			He has left that up to us

			No matter what happens
			Neither of us will ever again be able to doubt
			That miracles do happen
			And dreams can come true

			But will we forsake the gift 
			He has given us so graciously?
