Entwined

"Entwined"

I watched her there so tranquil~
Her eyes blue as the sea
Her face lit by the morning light~
Her mind far, far from me

The sweet expression on her face~
Told only of sweet love
Her body told me so much more~
Rare softness like a dove

I took to my imaginings~
To know her mind so fair
Yet looking on her took my breath~
Desire rushed through me there

I closed my eyes a moment
Then found myself within~
The mind of this fair maiden
Entwined, our souls therein

Oh rapturous scenes unfolded
Of love and life and prayer
Of gentle touch or sweet caress
Of kisses, oh so fair

Of joyous conversation
When two minds both agree
Eternity not long enough
To share a destiny

I longed to stay within her
To hold her endlessly
To let her know that I was there
To share the harmony

Then I awoke to look upon
The maiden,solitaire
She turned and smiled, her eyes met mine~
She knew I had been there.
